Enjoy an unforgettable 8-day adventure on São Miguel Island. Explore the stunning lakes of Sete Cidades, relax in Furnas hot springs, discover the beauty of Nordeste, and experience whale watching in the Atlantic. A perfect balance of nature, culture, and leisure for all ages.

Day 1: Arrival - Sao Miguel

Arrive at the airport and meet your driver who will take you to your hotel in Ponta Delgada.

Day 2: Sao Miguel | Sete Cidades Lake | Lagoa do Fogo | Sao Miguel

Breakfast at the hotel.  Discover the iconic village of Sete Cidades, known for its twin lakes formed in a volcanic caldera — Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, one blue and one green, creating one of the island’s most breathtaking sights.  Along the journey, visit several picturesque stops including Lagoa das Empadadas, Lagoa de Santiago, and lesser-known viewpoints full of natural beauty.  Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.  In the afternoon, continue to the spectacular Lagoa do Fogo, with stops at Ribeira Grande’s geothermal areas and Caldeira Velha, featuring fumaroles and a warm waterfall.  End the day at the Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint, with its stunning panoramic landscape. Day 3: Sao Miguel - Whale Watching

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and transfer from the hotel to Ponta Delgada Marina for a 3-hour whale-watching adventure led by professional lookouts, skippers, and marine biologists.  Before departure, enjoy a briefing on the species you may see and the Azorean Whale Watching Code of Ethics.  Equipment for safety and comfort (life vest and rain jacket) is provided.  After the activity, return transfer to the hotel. Day 4: Sao Miguel - Furnas Full Day Tour

Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Furnas, one of the island’s most beautiful and unique regions, shaped by centuries of volcanic activity.  Visit the hot springs, calderas, and fumaroles surrounding the lush Furnas Lake.  Lunch is served at a traditional restaurant where you’ll taste the famous Cozido, slow-cooked underground using natural geothermal heat.  Continue your tour with a stop in Vila Franca do Campo, where you can see the iconic offshore islet, followed by a visit to a local tea factory.  Enjoy several scenic viewpoints along the way. Day 5: Sao Miguel - Free Day at Leisure

Enjoy the island at your own pace. (B)
 

Day 6: Sao Miguel - Nordeste Full Day Tour

After breakfast, discover Nordeste, the greenest and most picturesque part of São Miguel. Travel through charming northern villages, including Ribeira Grande and Porto Formoso, on your way to the island’s eastern edge.  Take in panoramic views from Pico do Bartolomeu, offering a privileged perspective of Pico da Vara, the highest point on the island. Day 7: Sao Miguel - Free Day at Leisure

Breakfast at the hotel.   Relax at the hotel or choose another optional excursion to complete your holiday. (B)

Day 8: Sao Miguel - Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your return flight. (B)
