Ouzo, local Meze & Loukoumades! And let's not forget traditional Greek Souvlaki - Irresistible! This will be your chance to taste your way around Athens. And if 4 days are not enough, we can combine it with any of our other Greek or even Italian Tours. Yamas!

Day 1: Athens

Arriving at Athens airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax or set out for your first taste of Athens. Stroll through the narrow lanes of ancient Plaka, the oldest district of Athens, or enjoy shopping at Ermou, Kolonaki & Voukourestiou streets.

Day 2: Athens Food Walking Tour

What better way to explore Athens than eating your way through it? This morning, as well as getting personal attention from your knowledgeable guide, you will be introduced to the history of Greek gastronomy and discover beautiful neighbourhoods & off the beaten path eateries. With an in-the-know foodie guide and in the company of no more than 12 participants, you’ll enjoy 15 tastings of Greek cuisine as you walk through the non-touristic neighbourhoods of Athens, to meet vendors and learn about secret Greek recipes. From traditional pies to cold cuts to stuffed tomatoes to “loukoumades”, your taste buds will be tingling the entire time. Departing from Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens, set off on a 4-hour exploration that will introduce you to the local culinary scene while your foodie expert guide shares insights about the enduring history of Greek food and the local culture. You'll learn why food is a special element of Greek culture; the different fresh and pure ingredients that the Greek land provides us with during all seasons; how different spices have different uses and what makes Greek cuisine so special. Starting your day with a traditional stuffed phyllo pie from a family-run place since the 20s, you will be led to hidden culinary gems inside the city that only locals know about. We will visit many different food and pastry shops, off-the-beaten-path taverns & traditional restaurants, and explore the Athens Central Market, the centre of Athens's commercial life. Featuring 15 delicious tastings like dolmades, "pastourma", feta cheese, and the famous kalamata olives, you'll get to escape the crowds and taste the best of what Athens offers. You won’t need to have breakfast and we guarantee there will be no room for lunch!  The remainder of the day is free to continue exploring Athens at your leisure. (B)

Day 3: Cooking Lesson & Dinner

This evening, after a day to pass as you choose, you will discover the local culture through gastronomy during a delightful hands-on cooking lesson followed by dinner. You will learn how to cook traditional Greek dishes with the assistance of an experienced Cooking instructor and the complicity of a small group! Get to know the wonderful world of Mediterranean cuisine - the herbs, the fresh vegetables, the choice meats that we always use and learn the basics on how to prepare a full Greek Sunday dinner with easy to follow recipes you can use to impress your guests when you get back home. At the end of the course, after you have successfully prepared a meal fit for a king under the constant guidance of your cooking instructor, enjoy the meal you have helped to prepare with a glass of wine! Menus will vary according to the season and available fresh produce in local markets, but they usually consist of 3-4 starters, salad a main dish & dessert. (B.D)

Day 4: Athens

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel before being transferred to the airport to begin your return journey. Or as about extending your stay in Greece perhaps visiting another of Greece's sunny islands. (B)
