Athens & Santorini - Taste the differences!  The recorded history of Greek Food & Wine stretches back 4000 years and during this comprehensive Flavours of Greece Food & Wine tour you'll tantalise your taste buds and experience the pure & unique quality of Greek cuisine!

Day 1: Athens

Upon arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and enjoy some time to relax or start getting acquainted with your new surroundings. 

Day 2: Athens | Walking Tour with Acropolis

Today's half-day tour, which is a must while in Athens, begins in front of the House of Parliament in Syntagma Square where you will see the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the change of the famous Euzony Guards. A pleasant walk will follow through the National Gardens and onto the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian’s Arch. From here you will enter the Plaka area heading to the Acropolis and with your guide, visit the Propylaia, the Temple of Nike and the Parthenon, monuments that remind us the glory of Ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. In the surroundings, you can also see the Athenian Agora, the Observatories, the Hill of Democracy (Pnyx), Mars and Philoppapos Hill, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theater of Dionysus. At the end of the tour, and since you are so close, do not miss the opportunity to visit on your own the new Acropolis Museum. (Entrance fees not included - approximately 20 Euros locally). Your tour will end around 1:00 pm and the afternoon is free to continue exploring Athens on your own. (B) 

Day 3: Athens | Food Walking Tour

This morning, discover another side of Athens which lies in the shadow of the famous Acropolis where a kaleidoscope of colours, smells, tastes and textures await during this delicious 'off the beaten track' food tour of Athens. Get ready to taste a wide variety of Greek delicacies ranging from the mouth-watering sweet and syrupy “loukoumades” to traditional “bougatsa” pie and savour the satisfying meld of flavours of a "gyros", warm pita bread filled with seasoned grilled meat, fresh veggies & traditional sauce. In between, you’ll taste Feta cheese, Greek olives, and sip Greek wines. Your guide will lead you through the bustling Athens Central Market, a historic food market unlike any other in Europe. Here, colourful and fragrant food stalls set the stage among animated food sellers, fishmongers and butchers whelping for sales as locals bargain them down. You’ll also walk the city’s quaint spice street, browse through mom-and-pop speciality shops selling local wine, olive oil, cheese or olives, and sample what’s behind the glass counters at family-run delicatessens. The aromas of fresh, out-of-the-oven savoury pies, the tempting displays of Greek pastries and sips of Greece’s strong and tasteful spirits round out the food tour. In between each bite, you’ll gain insight into Greece’s fascinating food culture, The remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 4: Athens | Santorini

Travel today from Athens to Santorini. A private transfer will take you from your Athens hotel to the pier in Piraeus where you'll board a fast ferry to Santorini Island (approx 4 hours 40 min). Upon arrival in Santorini, a driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax or start exploring on your own. (B)

Day 5: Santorini

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and a full day to relax, soak up the sun and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this beautiful island. (B)

Day 6: Santorini | Wine & Food Lovers Tour

This morning treat yourself to a fun & informative Small Group wine and food tour in Santorini, followed by a culinary feast filled with Santorini flavours and traditional Greek delights. The day starts with a visit to a charming vineyard learning about the unique viticulture that makes Santorini’s wine-growing renowned worldwide for its distinctive, centuries-old means of production. During the tour, visit 2 traditional Santorini wineries and sample 8 different types of the island’s signature wines including Assyrtiko, Nykteri and Vinsanto. Then help a local chef prepare a course of three Santorini signature dishes at a traditional restaurant and enjoy all the fruits of your labour at the end of your cooking lesson accompanied by wine! With pick up and drop off at your Santorini or Fira town hotel included, this tour operates with a maximum of 8 ensure an intimate and personalized experience. Afternoon at leisure. (B.L) 

Day 7: Santorini | Catamaran Sunset Cruise & Dinner

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the morning at leisure. Then let the sea breeze enchant you as you leisurely discover the magical locations that make Santorini a unique worldwide destination during a Small Group Catamaran Sunset Cruise. Setting sail from Marina Vlihadam, your first stop will be at the spectacular Red Beach near the historic village of Akrotiri, where you can take a short dip before sailing onward to the magnificent White Beach and past the Indian Rocks toward Santorini’s Venetian lighthouse. Located on the tip of the island, it offers the most awe-inspiring view of the whole Aegean Sea and the surrounding Greek Islands. Continue exploring the most beautiful parts of Santorini whilst sailing past the Caldera where you have the chance to see Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli & Oia from afar, and admire the rock formations of the coastline as you cruise past the volcano which also presents amazing photographic opportunities. Next, we sail to the famous volcanic hot springs where once again there will be a brief stop to take a healing swim in the sulphurous waters, before continuing toward the unique private bays & coves of Palia Kameni where you can relax, swim or do some snorkelling in the clear blue waters. Then savour a freshly prepared onboard BBQ and buffet of Greek delicacies from the local market accompanied by Greek salads, soft drinks, beer & local wine as you watch the glorious sunset over the Santorini landscape. Day 8: Santorini

Today marks the end of your Flavours of Greece tour. Enjoy a final breakfast and, at a time to suit your departing flight, a private transfer will take you to the airport to begin your journey home. (B)
