Day 2: Athens | City Tour with Acropolis & Acropolis Museum

Following breakfast, set out on a guided tour to discover the most important sites of Athens and observe the striking contrasts that make it such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. After a short stop, we continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library and Syntagma Square (the Constitution Square). The tour continues to the Acropolis where you will visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts the order in the mind” - the Parthenon. Feel the history of this magnificent archaeological site and be amazed by the breathtaking view of the city below. You will then proceed to visit another must-see in Athens, the place where finally the statues found their home, and admire the wonders of the classical era: the New Acropolis Museum. Displaying over 4000 artefacts from the Acropolis and excavations visible under glass floors & walkways, it was voted the 3rd best museum in the world by the Sunday Times. Please note that due to certain restrictions on the visiting hours of the New Acropolis Museum, the order of the program can change. Your tour will end around 1:30 pm and the afternoon is free to continue exploring Athens on your own. (B)

Day 3: Athens | Athens for Foodies Walking Tour

This morning discover another side of Athens as you'll be introduced to the history of Greek gastronomy and discover beautiful neighbourhoods & off the beaten path eateries. With an in-the-know foodie guide and in the company of no more than 12 participants, you’ll enjoy 15 tastings of Greek cuisine as you walk through the non-touristic neighbourhoods of Athens, to meet vendors and learn about secret Greek recipes. From traditional pies to cold cuts to stuffed tomatoes to “loukoumades”, your taste buds will be tingling the entire time. Departing from Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens, set off on a 4-hour exploration that will introduce you to the local culinary scene while your foodie expert guide shares insights about the enduring history of Greek food and the local culture. You'll learn why food is a special element of Greek culture; the different fresh and pure ingredients that the Greek land provides us with during all seasons; how different spices have different uses and what makes Greek cuisine so special. Starting your day with a traditional stuffed phyllo pie from a family-run place since the 20s, you will be led to hidden culinary gems inside the city that only locals know about. We will visit many different food and pastry shops, off-the-beaten-path taverns & traditional restaurants, and explore the Athens Central Market, the centre of Athens's commercial life. Featuring 15 delicious tastings like dolmades, "pastourma", feta cheese, and the famous kalamata olives, you'll get to escape the crowds and taste the best of what Athens offers. You won’t need to have breakfast and we guarantee there will be no room for lunch! The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

This morning treat yourself to a fun & informative small-group wine and food tour in Santorini, followed by a culinary feast filled with Santorini flavours and traditional Greek delights. The day starts with a visit to a charming vineyard learning about the unique viticulture that makes Santorini’s vine-growing renowned worldwide for its distinctive means of production, existing for centuries. Learn about the wine and the island’s characteristic volcanic soil, known as 'aspa', that helps produce wine with abundant mineral flavours and light notes. During the tour, visit 2 traditional Santorini wineries and sample 8 different types of the island’s signature wines such as Assyrtiko, Nykteri and Vinsanto. Then help a local chef prepare a course of three Santorini signature dishes at a traditional restaurant and enjoy all the fruits of your labour at the end of your cooking lesson accompanied by wine. Finish with a glass of Vinsanto and a local dessert to end your meal in the Santorini way! With pick up and drop off at your Santorini or Fira town hotel included, this tour operates with a maximum of 8 participants to ensure an intimate and personalized experience. The tour lasts approximately 6 hours and the remainder of today is yours to spend as you please. (B.L)

Day 7: Santorini | Catamaran Sunset Cruise & Dinner

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the morning at leisure. Then let the sea breeze enchant you as you leisurely discover the magical locations that make Santorini a unique worldwide destination during a small group Catamaran Sunset Cruise. Setting sail from Vlychada, your first stop will be at the spectacular Red Beach near the historic village of Akrotiri, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island with a distinct red colouration caused by the rich in minerals and iron soil, another opportunity for you to dive into the emerald Aegean sea for a swim or to snorkel. Our next stop will be White Beach where a stop for swimming and snorkelling is made and highly recommended... after all, no one can resist the crystal clear blue waters with the abounding underwater environment and reefs. Enjoy a freshly prepared onboard BBQ and buffet of Greek delicacies for dinner accompanied by local white wine, beer & soft drinks. Then take in the fabulous views of Akrotiri, the Indian Rock, the Ancient Lighthouse, and Aspronisi island as our cruise continues north along the coastline and past the volcano which presents amazing photographic opportunities. Our final stop will be at the famous volcanic hot springs where once again there will be a brief stop to take a healing swim in the sulphurous waters.
