Day 1 Arrive in La Spezia

Upon arrival in La Spezia make your way to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free to relax or start discovering La Spezia and the Cinque Terre region. The name itself means "Five Lands", but this tiny strip of Ligurian coastline nestled just north of La Spezia, is really home to Liguria's most magical towns, five small ancient fortified villages that, until recent times, were inaccessible until the road was built. Tonight you will be treated to a dinner featuring local specialties with drinks included at a typical restaurant in the centre of La Spezia. (D)

Day 2 La Spezia & Cinque Terre

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then, with your Cinque Terre Card, set out to discover the fascinating Cinque Terre region. The Cinque Terre Card offers access to the "Blue Path", unlimited 2nd class rail travel on regional trains between La Spezia and five Cinque Terre stations, use of the eco-buses inside the park, entrance to all pedestrian paths, naturalistic observation centres, bird watching & botanical gardens, and access to the Environmental Education Centre in Torre Guardiola. After a day of exploring, return to La Spezia for dinner and a well-deserved rest. (B.D)
