Enjoy the splendours of Italy's classic cities travelling comfortably by high-speed train. Visit the Eternal City of Rome, the Grand Renaissance City of Florence and Venice with its meandering canals. A first-class rail tour for the independent traveller!

Day 1 Rome

Upon arrival at Rome Airport, make your way to your hotel which is located in the centre of Rome and ideal for exploring the many historic & artistic sites of the city on foot. After check-in, take some time to relax and then perhaps head out to begin your discovery of the ‘Eternal City’.

Day 2 Rome

Discover the classic monuments of Rome by coach and on foot. Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with Najad's Fountain, your local guide you'll stroll through the historic centre to admire the Trevi Fountain, the Colonna of Marco Aurelio, Palazzo Montecitorio, the Pantheon (visit inside), Palazzo Madama (seat of the Senate) and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside Castel S. Angelo, your tour will take you to the Basilica of St. Peter for an outside visit to this impressive Renaissance church, Italy's most spectacular basilica & the centre of Christian faith, where your tour ends and the remainder of the day free to pass as you choose. (B)

Day 3 Rome | Florence

Today travel by high-speed train with reserved seats from Rome to Florence. Your Florence hotel is easily reached on foot from the railway station and well located for exploring Florence at leisure. Check in at your selected hotel and the remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose. (B)

Day 4 Florence

This morning, enjoy the chance to explore one of the most famous Museums in the world in a completely independent way, guided by the audio commentary of our interactive and easy to use an APP! You can't leave Florence without visiting the Accademia Gallery and thanks to your skip-the-line ticket and our user-friendly APP Guide you will enjoy the original statue of the David and other masterpieces of Michelangelo. Michelangelo’s carved the David from a giant block of Carrara marble in three years only, realizing a sculpture of breathtaking beauty, an iconic symbol of the Renaissance. Immerse yourself completely in Michelangelo’s art, the genius of the Renaissance, discovering also his most renowned works of art such as ''I Prigioni'' and ''San Matteo'' and the “Palestrina Pietà”.The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you please. Day 5 Florence | Venice

Travel by high-speed train with reserved seats from Florence to Venice. After check-in at your selected hotel, the remainder of the day is free to shop or explore the many lanes, alleyways, canals & bridges that make up the city of Venice. (B)

Day 6 Venice

This morning discover Venice’s most unusual and characteristic corners during this charming walking tour. Experience a lesser-known Venice, wandering through its back streets and small hidden squares starting just outside Saint Mark's Square and reaching Rialto Bridge, and learn a little about what it's like living in this unique city. Meet your local guide in Campo San Moisè, just outside of Saint Mark's Square, and let yourself be lead through the labyrinth of alleyways, squares or “campi” and hear about the history, stories and the local Venetian dialect. On leaving the square, you will stop in front of the Fenice Theatre, one of the most famous Opera House's in Europe, learn about its glorious but also troubled history. Passing through other hidden corners of the city you will be able to discover the history of Venice, through its prominent architectural sights. Admire the Bovolo Staircase, a Renaissance masterpiece, and one of Venice's finest architectural jewels; this fascinating and complex spiral staircase is part of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo and dates from 1499. It is tucked away in a small courtyard close to Campo Manin. Before heading back, you will make a stop close to the Rialto Bridge, the oldest bridge across the Grand Canal and discover what made it the historical centre of the commercial area of the city.  The tour ends after 1 hour & 15 minutes in San Luca Square, just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge. The afternoon is yours to spend as you please. (B)

Day 7 Venice

Today marks the end of your tour. After breakfast, you may consider one of the many optional tours available through CIT Tours or travel to the airport for your return flight. (B)
