Munich is picturesque & prosperous and a great City Break destination with a perfect blend of history, traditional charm & boisterous night-life. Visit famous " Biergarten" like the Hofbräuhaus and Augustiner Bräustuben plus the fairy-tale style castles of Neuschwanstein & Linderhof.

Day 1 Arrival

On arrival in Munich airport, make your way to your selected hotel. For added convenience, optional arrival and/or departure transfers are available on request.  After checking in, the remainder of the day is free to spend as you please and start discovering some of the attractions the Bavarian capital has to offer or perhaps visit a typical Bavarian restaurant for a hearty meal and a glass or two of beer.

Day 2 Munich

Following breakfast at your hotel head out to explore this most charming city at your own pace. A Hop-on Hop-off city tour invites you to discover Munich's major sights and monuments, such as the Pinakothek Art Museums, the National Theatre with the Royal Palace, Marienplatz Square, world-famous Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualien market with its colourful outdoor stalls. (B)

Day 3 Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Castle & Oberammergau

Today enjoy a full day excursion to visit Bavaria's Royal Castles. Sitting majestically on top of a rugged hill, Neuschwanstein is perhaps the best-known castle in the world. It was built in the 19th Century as a private refuge for King Ludwig II, Bavaria's fairytale King, while the smaller French-Rococo style Linderhof Castle served as his hunting lodge and is the only one where the king actually lived for a significant period of time. During this tour, you will visit these two architectural gems and also enjoy a short stop in Oberammergau, the picturesque village internationally known for its Passion play, wooden crafts & beautifully painted houses. Expect to return to Munich in the late afternoon. (B)

Day 4 Depart Munich

Today marks the end of your Munich City break. After breakfast check-out and, at the appropriate time, make your own way to Munich airport or railway station. Or ask your Travel Agent about extending your Munich stay, or combine with other cities available through CIT Tours to create your very own European City Break vacation. (B)
