Today we offer you the opportunity to discover one of the lesser-known areas of the eastern Algarve! The Algarve has much to offer its visitors - a wonderful climate, golden beaches, tree-cloaked mountains, and cosmopolitan resorts…..Less well known perhaps is the fact that the Algarve is also one of Europe’s most fascinating areas from an ecological perspective. We propose an unforgettable visit to a Salt Pan where you will be able to see how the finest salt in Portugal is produced. Be ready to be dazzled by the brightness of the neat rows of salt pans that constitute an age-old tradition in this area. Beyond these, you can appreciate the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa estuary, a wide expanse of canals, marshlands, and sandbanks that provide shelter to numerous species of migrating birds. This park is one of the most impressive in Europe with rich and varied flora and fauna. Our next stop is Olhão - a traditional fishing village, renowned for its cube-shaped white-washed houses, contrasting with the golden sands and the blue sky and sea. Here you have an opportunity to explore the famous market with its huge selection of fish. After visiting the market in Olhão, it is time to recharge your batteries with a typical lunch in a charming local restaurant, where you will be delighted by the freshness of the fish served! After lunch, we will pass by a tiny, traditional fishing village - Santa Luzia. There you will see the pots used to catch octopus - an ingenious device! Our final stop is in Tavira, the queen of the Algarve coastal towns. See the Arab fortress & the IV-century Roman Bridge and visit at least some of the town's 22 churches! This tour lasts approximately 8 hours and has a maximum of 8 participants.
