This full-day guided tour sees you discovering the Western Algarve’s natural & historic highlights and many remnants of its Moorish and Roman past. In Silves, the former Moorish capital, visit the old town where the largest castle in the Algarve and the oldest cathedral are located. Driving up through the Monchique Mountains we reach Fóia Peak, the highest point of the Algarve featuring spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the ocean. Enjoy some free time to admire the splendid view and take photos. On our way down, we will make a stop for lunch (meal not included) and in the afternoon proceed to the beautiful town of Lagos, where sightseeing includes the former slave market dating back to the 15th century, the golden church of Santo António, the Ponte da Bandeira fortress, and the picturesque old town. The journey continues to Cape Saint Vincent, Europe's most southwesterly point once known as "the End of the World". Landmarks include the cape's lighthouse, the beautiful fishing harbour of Baleeira, and the Fortress of Sagres, the former home of Prince Henry's historic navigation school.
