Set out on a full-day small-group tour to discover some of Provence's most charming towns & open-air markets and the lavender fields of the Luberon. Village markets are one of Provence’s greatest traditions and part of the local "art de vivre". Every village has a weekly market and its own personality. Accompanied by your local expert guide, wander through the colourful stalls and discover famous local products such as honey, olive oil, fresh olives, various types of cheeses, fresh & local vegetables, famous soap, dried herbs, pottery... On Tuesday only, spend time in the hilltop village of Gordes for the market. On the other weekdays, a photo stop will be organized to admire this charming medieval village, renowned for its dry stone architecture and considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. From mid-June to mid-July, during the lavender season, a quick stop will be made at Sénanque Abbey where you can take pictures of the lavender field in bloom. Next, discover the village of Roussillon with its red & yellow ochre cliffs and colourful houses (market on Thursday), before enjoying some time in the picturesque village of Lourmarin, famous for its Renaissance castle (market on Friday). On Sundays only, stop at the market in L'Isle sur Sorgue for a stroll along the canals and to discover the antique shops. The tour then proceeds to Fontaine de Vaucluse where you can walk up to the cave from which the River Sorgue emerges. On Saturdays only, discover the city of Apt and its market, famous for the candied-fruits production. A truly memorable day! Conducted with no more than 8 participants, this tour lasts about 11.5 hours.
