Day 1: Arrival in Ponta Delgada

Welcome to the Azores! On arrival at Ponta Delgada airport, collect your luggage and make your way to your selected hotel. Alternatively, an optional transfer can be booked on request. Once you've settled in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax and get acquainted with your new surroundings.

Day 2: Tour to Furnas by 4x4 Jeep

Today set out on a full day 4x4 Jeep Tour to the spa town of Furnas, one of the largest thermal water sources in the world. The mystic Furnas and its volcanic activity make you wonder and want to explore every inch of this village. The Valley of Furnas, a dormant volcano crater, is considered one of the most beautiful spots of the archipelago, for its  impressive natural hot springs, calderas, steaming fumaroles and thermal pools around every corner. After savouring a lunch of "cozido", a rich traditional stew cooked using the underground vapors, you'll explore the north of the island with its amazing landscapes and then enjoy a stop at the tea factory on the way back to Ponta Delgada. The tour lasts approximately 7 hours. Day 3: Sete Cidades 4x4 Jeep Tour

Today join a fun and exciting tour by 4x4 vehicle to the western side of São Miguel Island known for its breathtaking views & landscapes. Located in the crater of an extinct volcano, Sete Cidades is renowned for its iconic twin lakes - one blue & one green. You'll be able to admire the beauty of these impressive lakes firsthand, which are a must-see when visiting São Miguel Island. Do not miss the opportunity to explore and observe this volcanic phenomenon which will for sure surprise you. There is a lot more to see on this tour, so get ready to be amazed by other lakes and picturesque places during this half-day excursion. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 4: Ponta Delgada

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and a full day to spend as you choose, perhaps exploring Ponta Delgada, the main town of São Miguel which has preserved its historical beauty. Take a delightful stroll through the narrow cobbled streets bordered by very well-preserved period houses, admire the 3-arched city gates and the Gothic-style Church of São Sebastião near the harbour and perhaps visit the 17th-century maritime fort of São Brás. Day 5: Whale & Dolphin Watching

In the Azores, we have the opportunity to observe about 27 species of cetaceans throughout the year. Sailing in the path of large cetaceans and cheerful dolphins, this half-day trip to the sea offers you the chance to meet and admire the marine mammals of the Azores in their natural habitat. Using the technique of lookouts strategically placed on the south coast of the island, we set out to meet these unique beings on a journey that is a mix of fun, adventure, discovery, and scientific knowledge. In just a few hours, we will provide you with an unforgettable experience. This whale & dolphin-watching activity is conducted by a professional team of lookouts, skippers, and biologists on rigid inflatable boats or fiberglass boats. Before leaving for the sea, a briefing on cetaceans, sighting methods, safety rules, and the code of ethics for the observation of cetaceans in the Azores will be carried out. You'll also be provided the necessary equipment to ensure your safety and comfort (life vest and rain jackets). After this 3-hour tour, spend a relaxing afternoon at your leisure. (B)

Day 6: Departure

Today unfortunately marks the end of your São Miguel discovery! Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and, at the appropriate time, make your way to the airport for your onward journey. Or ask us about extending your vacation, perhaps visiting another island in the Azores Archipelago. (B)
