This morning discover the ancient island of Delos. Located only a 45-minute boat ride from Mykonos, Delos was the centre of the Cyclades of the ancient world, considered the island of light, the birthplace of Apollon and Artemis, and home to the first multicultural civilization & trade. There is a lot to see - having been inhabited between 2500 and 69 B.C, Delos boasts many archaeological treasures including the ancient marketplace Agora, the famous terrace of the Naxos lions, the holy lake, and see the ancient living quarters & theatre that give you a lively vision of daily life back then, especially the houses of Dionysos, Kleopatra, the Trident, the Masks & the Dolphins with their fantastic mosaics. Furthermore, there is the Temple of Isis, the Egyptian goddess, the Roman water system & cisterns and the wonderful museum with plenty of breathtaking mosaics, statues and many more objects found during the excavations. This guided tour departs at 10:00 am from the old pier in Mykonos Town and you should expect to return by 1:30 pm. Or, if you wish to remain a bit longer for some leisure time or to climb Mount Kynthos from where you can enjoy fabulous views over all the surrounding Cycladic islands, you can also take the last boat back from Delos at 3:00 pm.
