In Puerto Toro, passengers disembark to start a one-hour walk by the lake shore and through a native forest of Coihues towards Serrano Glacier, enjoying the amazing vegetation with the contrast of clean sky and sea ice & the unique flavour of a whiskey served on-the-rocks with millenary glacier ice accompanied by a second snack. Finally, the vessel departs from Puerto Toro and salis toward Eberhard Fjord. Here, passengers enjoy a short trek through Puerto Consuelo ranch before tasting a delicious barbecue of Magellan lamb at the Eberhard Ranch. Breakfast at hotel. Today you will enjoy a full day tour to the Torres del Paine National Park, a World Biosphere Reserve and a veritable paradise for flora and fauna lovers. The excursion begins visiting the Milodon Cave, a natural monument located on Benitez Hill, where in 1895 remains of the extinct Sabre Toothed Tiger, American Horse and a large mammal known as Milodon were found. A half hour walk take us into the cave to observe the stalactites, places where the remains were found as well as a replica of the Milodon. Afterward a brief stop in the village of Cerro Castillo, the tour continues towards Torres del Paine National Park. Visitors will be able to enjoy the most diverse landscapes, such as the Magellanic Deciduous Forest and the vast Patagonian Steppe dominated by the wind and aridity. On the way you may be able to spot two unique species of the local fauna: the Patagonian Guanaco, the South American Camel, and the endemic Rhea, a relative of the African Ostrich. Once at the park, which is a Biosphere Reserve with a surface over 242,000 hectares, the landscape changes drastically becoming unforgettable due its dozen lakes populated by marine birds, and in the background granite peaks dominating the area. Turquoise lakes, waterfalls and mountains covered by ice are the predominant landscape inside the park. A walk for 15 minutes takes you to Salto Grande, a waterfall which links two big lakes inside the park: Nordenskjold and Pehoe Lakes.
