Day 1 Madrid | Cordoba | Seville
Tuesday - An early morning departure from Madrid sees the tour heading through the countryside of La Mancha where, in Don Quixote, the famous novel by Cervantes, was where Quixote tilted against windmills before arriving to Cordoba. Here there will be time for lunch on your own before a city sightseeing tour. During this tour you will enjoy a panoramic walking tour by the old Jewish Quarter, and visit the magnificent Mosque, built during the time of the Caliphs, it one of the most important in the Islamic World. The tour continues to arrive in Seville for hotel check-in & dinner. (D)
Day 2 Seville
Wednesday - This morning, after breakfast your introduction to Seville will begin with a city tour exploring or seeing such sights as Torre del Oro by the river Guadalquivir, Plaza de EspaƱa, the Park of Maria Luisa and walking by old Barrio de Santa Cruz through its narrow streets and alleys. The remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose. You may wish to book an optional Artistic tour including the Royal Alcazar Palace. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Seville (B.D)
Day 3 Seville | Costa del Sol
Thursday - Following breakfast at your hotel we depart Seville and travel through the Andalusian countryside along the route of the White Villages and Ronda. Enjoy some free time in Ronda before continuing towards Spain's famous Costa del Sol. Remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Costa del Sol hotel. (B.D)
Day 4 & 5 Costa del Sol
Friday & Saturday - Enjoy half board at the hotel and two full days at leisure to relax or explore the Costa del Sol on your own. These days are yours to spend as you please. Relax on the beach, explore the town's shops & bars or test your fitness trying some of the many beach sports available. Away from the tourist centres of the coast the whitewashed villages of Costa del Sol are impressive historical monuments in themselves, and their people still live according to age-old traditions, inherited from their Iberian, Roman and Moorish forefathers. Dinner & overnight hotel accommodation on the Costa del Sol. (B.D)
Day 6 Costa del Sol | Granada
Sunday - Breakfast will be at your hotel before departing for Granada. On arrival, there will be a sightseeing tour including a visit to the impressive Alhambra with its beautiful Nazari Palaces, which inspired caliphs, conquerors, and writers, with its magnificent rooms and intricately decorated Moorish archways. Then stroll through its fabled Generalife gardens and the summer residence of the caliphs. After the tour there will be time to wander and shop on your own before you return to the hotel for overnight accommodation & dinner in Granada. An optional tour to the caves of Sacramonte and to a typical gipsy flamenco show are available. (B.D)
Day 7 Granada | Toledo | Madrid
Monday - Our northward route takes us back through central Spain, to the historic city of Toledo, where fine steel making is a tradition and a craft, where Jews and Muslims and Christians all flourished in the Golden Age of Moorish Spain. Following lunch in a local restaurant, a guided tour through the city's narrow streets & alleys features such notable sights as the Cathedral and the famous Alcazar, a fortress site from Roman times right into this century. Afternoon will see us back aboard the coach, on our way to Madrid.(B)
