Testimonials

My clients are back from the Jolly Sicily Tour, here their feedback...Our trip went very, very well. We enjoyed it very much, had a superb time. The itinerary was perfect, but the people who implemented & managed it were even better. Driver & guides were all professionals & worthy of saying thanks for a well done job. We saw & learned a lot. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for a job well done!

Madrid for food lovers! Learn about Spanish wine and discover traditional Iberian Ham houses in Madrid. Visit the fresh food stalls of Torrijos Market, then learn to prepare Paella and other authentic Spanish dishes.

Day 1: Madrid

Arriving at Madrid airport, make your way to your centrally located hotel. Check-in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure to relax or begin exploring Madrid on your own.

Day 2: Madrid - Paella, Tortilla & Sangria

The morning is free to enjoy this cosmopolitan city as you chose. Then, in the afternoon, you'll take part in a fun introduction to the Spanish gastronomic culture. Learn how to cook Spanish dishes that have travelled the world, including Paella, Tortilla, Sangria and more, preparing the dishes yourself under the guidance of an experienced chef and in a small group setting. The tour begins with a visit to the fresh food stalls of Torrijos Market (Mercado de Torrijos), where the chefs will give you plenty of tips on picking local, seasonal products. Then you can start cooking dishes like Paella, Spanish omelette (Tortilla), Andalusian salad, Sangria, all the while enjoying & learning about Spanish cuisine. After you have prepared your dishes, it is time to taste what you have prepared while trying different Spanish wines. Before leaving, your instructor will give you a recipe card so that you can re-create the food yourself at home to impress friends and family! Duration approx 3 hours. (B.L)

Day 3: Wine & Iberian Ham Tapas

The morning is free to spend as you please, visiting some of the many historic sites or museums this cosmopolitan city has to offer. Then set out on a small group tour that will take you off the beaten tracks, tasting the best Iberian Ham paired with selected Spanish wines and visiting emblematic and high-quality Jamonerías (Homes of Ham). Sample several cuts of Iberian meats like chorizo, salchichón, 'lomo' and ham paired with Manchego cheese and other classic tapas. As you do so, you'll learn about the fascinating history & culture of wine, the differences between each type of ham you can find in the market and master how to shop for them like a local. Do you know the difference between Jamón Serrano and Jamón Ibérico? Do you know the difference between Jamón and Paletilla? Learn about the wide range of Ham (Jamón) & its related products and the 4 protected Qualified Appellation of Origin of the Jamón Iberico. Taste and see how a professional ham cutter carves those delicious thin slices with his special long knife and experience first-hand why Iberian ham (Black hoof) is so delicious and unique…and also healthy. During this 2.5- hour tour we will also sample some extra virgin Spanish olive oil, and learn about & taste the most typical lunch in Madrid: 'cocido madrileño' (madrilian stew). Taste, learn and enjoy! (B.L)
