Visit the 'Christkindlmarkt' in Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Dresden & Berlin, soak up the German culture while discovering charming medieval towns, royal castles & Germany's fascinating capital city. Take an afternoon stroll through the adorned streets, enjoy a glass of "Glühwein" (mulled wine) with gingerbread & get into the holiday spirit waiting for the first snowflakes to fall!
Day 1: Frankfurt
Sunday - On arrival in Frankfurt you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and enjoy the remainder of the day is free to explore at your leisure. At first glance, Frankfurt impresses visitors with its modern skyscrapers but a close-up look also reveals a pleasant & charming city ready to be discovered, from the historic Römer Square to picturesque Sachsenhausen district and the numerous museums along the banks of the Main river. Day 2: Frankfurt | Würzburg | Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Monday - Following breakfast at the hotel, we travel from Frankfurt to Würzburg and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this city that boasts more than 1300 years of history. Würzburg’s city centre has been designated a UNESCO Heritage Site. Then continue to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Romantic Germany. Its small streets and historic buildings will take you back into medieval times. Tour the city and visit the Christmas market. Make sure to visit the shop of Käthe Wohlfahrt, internationally renowned for its great assortment of Christmas crafts. Day 3: Rothenburg ob der Tauber | Nuremberg
Tuesday - Breakfast at hotel and morning departure to Nuremberg. Founded by the Romans, this is one of the oldest cities in Germany and has been designated a UNESCO Heritage site. Explore this historic city with your guide and visit the local Christmas market, known as "Christkindlemarkt" and one of the most famous markets in Germany. Day 4: Nuremberg | Dresden
Wednesday - In the morning departure to Dresden. Dresden is one of the most attractive cities in Germany; a combination of tradition & modernity determining the cultural charm of the city. Visit the famous "Striezelmarkt", Germany's oldest Christmas market; dating back to medieval times it was first documented in 1434. Every year more than 2.5 million people visit Dresden's Altmarkt square to soak up the bustling atmosphere of this charming market. Overnight in Dresden. Day 5: Dresden | Berlin
Thursday - Breakfast at hotel followed by a guided tour of Dresden. Visit the recently restored Frauenkirche church, the famous Dresden Opera House, the Imperial Zwinger palace and enjoy a stroll along the Elbe River. At noon, we say goodbye to Dresden and travel north toward Berlin. The German capital is one of the most important & lively cities in Europe, rich in historical & cultural treasures and with a vibrant art & music scene, countless museums, restaurants & elegant shopping venues. Every December Berlin also becomes home to over 10 unique Christmas markets and today you'll visit one of the markets in this impressive capital. Day 6: Berlin
Friday - In the morning you will start the day with a visit to the TV tower for a spectacular view over the capital. Afterwards visit Berlin’s many well-known historic locations, such as the elegant Under den Linden Avenue, the State Opera and Brandenburg Gate. There will also be time to explore the modern parts of the city, such as the German Parliament and Potsdam Square. The afternoon is free to continue exploring the city at your leisure. Day 7: Berlin
Saturday - Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before being transferred to the airport to begin your journey back to Canada, taking with you memories of this enchanting & magical time. (B)
